here's my original reaction to viewing the star wars: the empire strikes back special edition when it came out in theaters...

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Empire, the best of the trilogy. What can I say. It's still very good. The wampa holding his cut off arm might have been a little unneccesary, but it's more suspenseful now. Cloud City rules now. It might be slightly overdone, but it's more acceptable than anything in Jedi, but we'll get to that. The only things about cloud city I don't like is that one shot they changed when Lando, Leia and the gang come around the corner and are outside. It's a little wierd. Darth's new line is lame. "Alert the star destroyer to prepare for my arrival", what is that? Bring my shuttle with the new sequence would have been fine still. And Luke should not scream when he jumps. He did it by choice, so he shouldn't really be afraid, well, maybe a bit... Otherwise, I think it was fine. Just the experience of seeing the best movie of all time in the theater was good enough. Overall, the best of the special editions...
